Large Door Canopy Range - Stylish Shelter for Any Front Door

A large door canopy does one job - keep rain and wind away from your entrance. But not all canopies are built the same. Projection depth matters most. Anything under 800mm offers limited real-world cover. For a front door that actually stays dry go for 900mm projection or more.

Materials split into three main camps: polycarbonate roof panels for lightweight weather resistance, powder-coated steel frames for strength and timber frames for a more traditional look. Polycarbonate yellows over time with cheap grades so always check the UV rating before buying.

Fitting a large porch canopy typically needs two people and a half-day. Most designs use a wall-mounted bracket system. Check your wall type first - cavity walls need different fixings than solid brick.

A wide door shelter is worth sizing generously. If your door is a double or oversized frame leave at least 300mm overhang either side for proper coverage. That extra width makes a real difference on a windy day.
